This day 59 years ago I was making my entrance into the world at Claremont Hospital in Sheffield. Not many people are around to remember that day, apart from my parent’s sisters and a couple of their elderly cousins.
I have made the decision that in this year leading up to my 60th birthday I will do 59 things for me, so I started to make a list which is actually harder than you think. I won’t bore you with all 59 ideas here, however, I’ve split them up into different categories, such as travel, food, my business, culture and social.
Travel – I want to do things like climb Pendle Hill, take my children and grandchildren away to Greece, watch a sunset, walk on the beach, go to London, walk or rather trek in Nepal.
For food – stupid things like making a baked Alaska and a bowl of Pho because I have never made them, eat fish and chips by the sea (hopefully in Filey).
The cultural things it’s really things like rereading a couple of books such as ‘Rebecca’ and ‘Catcher in the Rye’, going to see live comedy, live music, theatre, being more consistent in writing my blog, visiting National Trust properties.
My social ideas vary tremendously from taking the grandchildren to the cinema, going on a swing, catch up with old friends and I mean old in the best possible sense, drink gin with friends, sing karaoke, laugh til it hurts, buys something frivolous.
I won’t bore you with my work ones, however, I do want to get to next stage in the business but basically my work will contribute to doing my number 60 on my 60th birthday which will be visiting my son Matthew in New Zealand where he now lives – I need to work hard to achieve this.
Watch this space…….

What a great idea I’ll have a go at setting some goals. Thanks for sharing. Do like reading your blog.
