Have you ever used Flightradar?

Have you ever followed a plane on Flightradar? It’s quite exciting.

https://www.flightradar24.com

I frequently used it when teaching geography to the children, helping them perceive time and distance for travel, whether it be how long it took to get to their holiday destination or comparing it to land travel. It can be a bit scary when you look at the map over Manchester or London as there seem to be so many plans ahead. Look at the flight path above school see if any flight is overhead and can they find where it is going to or from? Zoom in and it’s less scary, honest.

The reason I am mentioning this today, is that I am off to meet my friend coming from a flight from San Javier airport in Murcia. she has rung to tell me she has been delayed, but nothing is showing on the flight radar, except it is scheduled. Keep pressing refresh, has it taken off yet? When do I leave for the airport, no pressure!!!

Ha Ha , have refreshed and she is in the air………

Now have to work out when to set off to meet her, to cope with the Manchester traffic, bit like a lottery…….better get my sign up for arrivals, with DEBBIE written in large letters, she has been away a whole week, I might not recognise her!!

see you later……
