Day 10: up before the cockerals, amazing sunrise, trudging round UNESCO site, afternoon of r and r after visit to police. Night in.

So up almost before we had been to sleep! Bumpy tuk tuk into town to get tickets for Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise. Quite a spectacle of the flow of lights from the variety of vehicles taking people to the UNESCO site. We trudged over a pontoon onto the site as the light was breaking, again a bit like lemmings with no cliff to run off. Were we going to make it in time??? Yes, we were! 1000’s of people there but hardly a word spoken, spoiling the moment. Felt very honoured to experience it. We had our packed breakfast, which hit the spot then headed off to explore. Went on to visit Angkor Thom the temples with the faces, quite spooky. The

area was extremely busy, full of tourists, bah humbug! We then moved onto the tomb raider temple with trees growing through the temples.

Couldnt get my head around the age of the temples and how they had been made all those years ago, such skill and mastery. Felt so honoured to actually be there.

Bumpy tuk tuk home for a pool afternoon and chilling. Took a trip to the tourist police, not going into details here, but say the police have very little say when the government is so powerful.

We ate in the hotel and had an early night due to our early start.
