So today, my ankle is still very sore, but like a good girl guide, I have soldiered on.
After a breakfast of fried eggs from the fridge with a couple of hot dog sausages on the side, we got into a truck and went to the local fruit market.
We bought random fruits to try to stock up for when we reach the elephant village.
We spotted our 3-year-old elephant in the back yard, lots of cooing and ahhing we got ourselves ready to cut the bamboo for 16 elephants.
A great look, but very necessary to stop the insects and bamboo cutting us. Hadn’t appreciated how hard work it would be
Once we had filled a truck full of canes, we were allowed to stop!!! Next stop was to visit the 9-month baby elephant. We saw a 2 week one, but couldn’t go near as mummy would be nasty.
Back home- a cold shower, with a bucket, wasn’t too difficult to negotiate although it was where to put your clothes to keep them dry during wash!! Quite a talent…
This evening we had green Thai curry at the homestead. Excellent. Corinne and I have polished off a half bottle of Thai rum
, so think it’s time for bed…under the mosquito net in a room of 5. Night all.
