We left Bangkok at 7 this morning and spent til 4ish in a not particularly well air-conditioned bus. The highlight of the journey was our lunch stop at a shopping mall with Tesco Lotus.

Of Course we had a look round, bought random things like dried mango, dried dates, yam crisps, lychee juice. Best buy was the Buddist monk goal bag.

Arriving in Surin, we found to have a lovely room.
We went out to the night market BB bought some new sandals then we looked at all the street food and decided that the pad Thai looked the best and freshest. We ordered and then we’re asked if we wanted to sit inside, at which he ushered us around his stall to sit on a table behind on the street behind- fab!
Walking back, muggins here stepped off a very high kerb and went over on my bad ankle. Also sadly BB fell off my shoulders into a puddle.
A man standing nearby hurried over and helped me by massaging my leg. From what we gathered he was an ex Thai boxer and knew what he was doing.
So having hobbled back to the room, we have an early night. Heading off to the elephant village tomorrow, who knows what the experience will be. Not sure if I will be able to blog whilst there as it is so remote.
