So today we went up the river in little boats to the floating markets, we had to queue to go through a lock with about 7 other narrowboats and an enormous very dead and whiffy monitor lizard to get to the market.

Tried coconut ice cream and some pineapple, beautiful. There were lots of very interesting stalls, bought some elephant trousers- very embarrassing when the lady scuttled under her stall and got a bag of very large ones for us and proudly announced they were large!!
A ride back on the boat to the Temple of Dawn- we wandered about the grounds BB enjoyed snapping away.

Quick ferry across the river found us at our second temple. This housed the 3rd largest budda in Thailand, quite magnificent.

Part of the Temple was also welcoming novice monks all wearing white, felt we were intruding a bit. Back to the hotel, managed a sneaky beer, then went for a foot massage. Corrine and I couldn’t stop laughing as we both have swollen, puffy ankles and both our masseurs we talking away together, decided they were discussing how hideous our legs were and how long/short our toes were.
Almost got back to the hotel when we got waylaid by 2 Americans who insisted we had a drink with them. 2 gins later, we escaped but BB got accosted, so we had to leave him in the room in the evening as he was so shaken by his experience.
The evening meal was a buffet of various Thai dishes, followed by a wander looking up the Khaosan Road. This was much livelier than last night as alcohol was allowed again. People wandering with cards offering “laughing gas” buckets of spirits etc.

One last drink than in bed can still hear these ladies from our room scraping wooden frog toys, think they may have to have them inserted as driving us mad.
Up for breakfast at 6, then heading off nearer the elephants at 7.
