Today is the 1st anniversary of the king of Thailand’s death, so they have decorated the city with loads of hoardings and shrines.
Everyone is wearing black for mourning. Tomorrow we are touring around the city and have been asked to wear black. The bars are shut and 90% of the bars that are open aren’t selling alcohol.
Fortunately, we found the 10% still serving, even if we had to have it in a mug!

So many street vendors selling fried locusts and scorpions, durian fruit, coconut ice cream, wooden fruit bowls in the shapes of elephants, plus all the food stalls…… they will have had to run for cover due to the torrential rain and thunder and lightening.
So glad we are tucked up in our air-conditioned room.
